Choosing Topics For An Argumentative Essay

Choosing Topics For An Argumentative EssayIt is often difficult to decide which topics for an argumentative essay to write in a particular grade level. In this article I will outline some of the more popular topics and some tips for using them as prompts for essay writing.Personal issues are very good topics for any argumentative essay. The most common personal issues include religion, politics, and social justice. They are not always easy to write about or explain, but they can be fun.Political issues are usually fairly easy to write about and often require little explanation. This is true for all topics, whether it is a political party voting issues, or a presidential election. Most essays begin with a basic political critique that will then lead to a more specific political critique. In fact, I like to do this at the beginning of each semester, before anything else is said in class.A subject of discussion at the end of a semester is the last thing to decide on; however, the topic is sometimes less important than the way in which it is presented. Some topics for an argumentative essay will need to be read carefully by the instructor to make sure that the content is suitable for such a discussion. If the essay is too long, it might be written up as a letter instead of an essay. Other problems could occur with a short essay that needed to be read in class; thus, the goal is to choose topics that don't take too much time out of class time.My favorite children's book is Dr. Seuss's Green Eggs and Ham. It comes out in the spring, and I decided to write about that theme this year. With this topic, I could really use some lively examples and creative writing. Therefore, I chose:'The Great Egg Hunt of 1999' by Dr. Seuss is about the environmental benefits from a surrogate mother raising her surrogate child. It also touches on environmental benefits that come from a small family and how that relates to the environment. The theme will be the impetus for the essay, so t he environment is important, but it is more important to the topic than just the environment.I also chose this popular subject because I know of so many good stories, and it will not take too much time to write. Other good subjects are religious topics, animal issues, and topics related to a topic we find fascinating. As long as it is not so overwhelming that it is hard to read, this should be fine. This is a big question that students often ask me. I believe that you are able to choose topics for your essays based on what you find interesting, which is a lot more challenging. In the end, it is going to come down to what you find intriguing and have fun writing about that.
